I saw the interactions with these women and men coming to see Iani and they loved her. I thought, ‘Everyone here is so happy, how could you not want to work here?’ And on top of that, they were leaving even happier.

It often takes a team effort to forge the most successful pathways in aesthetics. So, it’s obviously in an injector’s best interest to have the finest possible team by his or her side. For Iani Silveira, Gabe Colon fits that bill…and then some. Together, they are your quintessential dream team of aesthetic aficionados.

Gabe wears multiple hats at Bella Vida Aesthetics & Wellness – assisting Iani during injectable treatments, performing noninvasive treatment options and managing the office. He’s often the first point of contact for new patients. Gabe pretty much does it all. Witnessing firsthand the positive impacts treatments have on clients’ lives, he’s constantly reminded why he loves coming to work every day.

Gabe is a Miami native born to New Yorker parents. Growing up, he can’t remember a time when his family didn’t have pets around, which included an early-age hobby of collecting exotic fish and coral for his saltwater aquarium (which he still enjoys to this day).

“I had a saltwater aquarium, and I would catch fish to put in the aquarium,” he said. “I still have a 210-gallon aquarium, and I get fish and coral from all over the world, including the Red Sea, Australia, Hawaii, and other places.”

Other activities that greatly contributed to Gabe’s youth included boxing, football, and any other sports that would get him outside, as well as countless hours on the boat fishing or island hopping.

When it was time to foray into the working world, Gabe started out in sales positions, including a job at Macy’s. But thanks to some family nudging, a different course was soon set.

“I got into the healthcare field because my mom worked at a hospital for many years,” Gabe said. “She convinced me to get my foot in the door.”

He did just that by securing a job at Baptist Hospital in Miami. Not only did that eventually morph into a more than 14-year career, but it also paved the way for him go to school and earn his business administration degree. He soon would put that education to very good use managing a team of 14 admissions staff with over 150+ patients and numerous patient guest services across two floors at the hospital.

When the time came for a change from the hospital, a mutual friend served as the catalyst for a whole new direction by connecting Gabe to Iani.

“Iani was looking for someone and our friend told her, ‘I know this guy. Let me introduce you to him,’” Gabe said. “We met up for lunch and we just hit it off. Before I knew it, I was working for her. We just got along so well, and the job sounded like so much fun. I’ve been working with her ever since.”

But Gabe admits that the initial decision to transition from the familiarity of the hospital to a budding aesthetics practice didn’t come without a little anxiety.

“I’m not going to lie, I was a little scared,” he said. “I had been at the hospital for 14 years and had a good position and gotten to know everybody there. But Iani and I got along so well, and she made me feel comfortable. We had a lot of similar things in common, so it somehow just made sense. I never thought I’d be in aesthetics, but I absolutely love it.”

And those early interactions with a totally new patient demographic was eye-opening, to say the least.

“My mindset was always people coming in because they’re sick. They need a pacemaker, a cardiac catheterization, or something else is wrong,” Gabe said. “So, I had no idea what to expect when the aesthetics patients came in at first. They were excited. They wanted to get the work done. I saw the interactions with these women and men coming to see Iani and they loved her. I thought, ‘Everyone here is so happy, how could you not want to work here?’ And on top of that, they were leaving even happier.”

Now, Gabe has so much interaction with the patients, in fact, that many new arrivals think they’re here to see him instead of Iani (which the pair still laughs about to this day). Plus, there’s a lot of laughter at Bella Vida Aesthetics & Wellness. That kind of fun environment, in addition to consistent remarkable aesthetic outcomes, keeps the clients wanting more.

“Iani and I are always poking fun at each other at the office, and the clients love it,” Gabe laughs. “They actually want to hang out with us, take us to dinner, invite us to parties.”

Aside from the obvious fun-loving aspect to the practice, Gabe makes sure to do anything in his power to help clients feel comfortable and welcome, especially when on occasion, they may be apprehensive about getting a treatment. Something that helps encourage even greater peace of mind is countless stories of small transformations that yielded big rewards.

“There was a patient who told us she couldn’t wear a certain shade of lipstick because her lips were so thin,” he said. “She came in for a follow-up after getting her lip treatment and was smiling from ear to ear wearing that exact shade. Just little things like that – I would have never thought about how much of an impact that would have on someone.”

And the positive impacts just keep piling up, from providing effective solutions to men and women experiencing hair loss to adding a welcomed pep in the step for someone who’s going through one of life’s not-so-fun circumstances, such as a divorce.

“They come in crying and I’m thinking, ‘Poor lady. She probably shouldn’t be getting anything done today.’ Then, before you know it, she’s leaving with a big smile,” Gabe points out. “These treatments impact people’s lives. It makes me smile and I’m not even the one who’s getting the work done.”

Gabe finds himself smiling a lot these days as there is certainly no shortage of satisfied clients who are glad to share their happiness with him and Iani.

“There was a lady who had PDO threads done and she started to cry,” Gabe recalls. “She said, ‘I can’t believe it – I have cheeks. You just knocked off 25 years. I can smile again.’ For a whole week, she would send us progress pictures and say, ‘I have cheeks.’ That touched me. I was so happy that we were able to give her that confidence.”

Providing that beautiful boost can happen in a number of ways at Bella Vida Aesthetics & Wellness. For that reason, Gabe can’t pinpoint any particular treatment as his favorite.

“What I like is a happy patient,” he said. “I like every single treatment option. I don’t have a favorite because I love them all as long as people are happy with their results.”

As for the future of the practice, Gabe sees some very exciting things on the horizon, especially thanks to Iani’s personally developed technique for nonsurgical buttocks augmentation and her desire to teach other providers.

“What I’m excited about are the trainings,” he said. “That’s how I know that this works and it’s something that a lot of professionals in the industry are wanting to learn about. Going to different facilities and training injectors on the way that we do our Bella Vida Instant BBLs is so great. I think that’s going to blow up and be huge. We’re already traveling to different states and training master injectors on the Bella Vida Instant BBL treatment that Iani invented. I see us expanding a lot. She really likes teaching, and it’s becoming a huge thing now.”

When he’s not delighting in the happiness of clients or keeping the practice running like a well-oiled machine, Gabe can mostly be found hanging out with his friends (including his good pal Iani), enjoying Miami’s beautiful beaches and ever-buzzing nightlife. He also still loves going out on the boat, traveling, and tending to his prized saltwater aquarium at home.
